How to avoid fraud and be assured of a quality, healthy pup of your choice

As I receive numerous calls and enquiries each month, I try to help people to understand the complexities and responsibilities of breeding and owning a new pup. I often have to convey my concerns that there are many people purporting to be breeders do not have the experience and credentials. Many lack the facilities and veterinary supervision and may not follow sound principles of intergenerational breeding. They often use male sires of unknown history. I always urge potential owners to visit a breeder’s facilities and establish the lineage of the father and the mother of each pup they may be offered  and build trust with the breeder. I caution against paying fees to join a waiting list or to pay a deposit for a pup before a visual inspection. I can advise on a number of ways buyers can avoid fraud and be assured of a quality, healthy pup of their choice.
